Lake Quinault is located just off Highway 101 on the west side of the Olympic Peninsula. Drive 42 miles north of Aberdeen, or 120 miles south of Port Angeles through Forks. The Olympic National Park ocean beaches at Kalaloch are only 35 miles away. Lake Quinault is a three hour drive from Seattle, or three and a half hour drive from Portland, Oregon. The area is rich in natural history and offers an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities. Here you will find glacier-carved lakes and ancient rain forests filled with towering trees and wildlife. Camping, hiking, nature walks, boating, swimming and world renowned steelhead fishing are just some of the choices available. A twenty-five mile loop drive around Lake Quinault will take you through the mossy old growth forests of towering trees and lush green forests that are home to a variety of birds and animals. The K-12/240 student, Lake Quinault School District, serves the communities of Amanda Park, Quinault, Neilton and Humptulips, all located along Highway 101. Students are located on one campus. The student population is 20% Hispanic, 34.5% Native American, 44% Caucasian and 1.5% others. The district also serves the high school students from the neighboring K-8 Queets-Clearwater School District.
